Jackson County Commission on Aging offers transportation to and from the senior centers and medical transports to Charleston, Parkersburg, Spencer, and Point Pleasant. Vans book up quickly and are scheduled out a month to two months in advance for medical transports.
We ask for doctor appointments to be made before noon to insure the drivers will be back to the office by 2:00pm, transportation is only available on Monday and Friday.
Jackson County Commission on Aging also offers transportation to grocery stores, shopping and pharmacies within the county.
Fees for transportation are on a donation basis.

Lighthouse Program
This programs is for in-home assistance for seniors that do not qualify for any other programs.
It offers support in four areas:
A sliding scale fee is charged.
FAIR (Family Alzheimer's In-Home Respite)
This program is designed to provide care and activities for individuals with Alzheimer's disease or a related dementia and give family caregivers a needed break.
A sliding scale fee is charged.
Medicaid Personal Care
This program includes personal care, dressing, feeding, nutrition, errands, and light housekeeping to those who are medically and financially eligible. A medical assessment is completed by a physician.

Veterans In Home Care
JCCOA can provide VA care. In home services are based on your assessment needs. Talk with a VA social worker to find out what specific help you may be able to receive.

Long Term Care Insurance
JCCOA can provide in home care services for those seniors who have private long term care insurance.

JCCOA offers meals for anyone 60 years of age and older at our Senior Centers.
Meals are generally served at 11:30am.
Please call your Senior Center the day before to order a meal.
JCCOA provides home delivered meals or more commonly known as Meals on Wheels.
For recipients to qualify they must be a minimum of 60 years old and home bound.
A home visit is required to determine eligibility.
